Brim blocks
As with our crown blocks, brim blocks are available in oval or circular forms and the ovals can be slim or broad. See choosing your blocks for a full explanation. All sizes are available, from child to large adult. Stand holes (25mm) and collar fixings are provided in solid centre blocks. All our blocks are hand finished and sealed and will have a long life if used and stored with the care that high quality timber products deserve. Helpful hints are included with all blocks.
String grooves can be added to all brim blocks for an additional charge of £25.00 (£20.83 ex VAT).
The crown position on these blocks can be offset from the centre for a small extra charge. Please give the offset measurement you require.

A simple domed block with no flat on top.It can be used as it is, cut to any shape, as a brim for any shape crown you fancy, or simply used as a surface on which to create fascinators. Extremley handy!

Many of the above designs for turned down brims can be combined into double blocks. Here are some of our popular combinations. The large size of these blocks will allow you to trim the blocked brim to a variety of shapes to give a huge number of different designs. All have circular outlines and collar fastenings top and bottom.
A BB16 or BB17 together with a Multiblock set makes an ideal combination if you are just starting in millinery and want as much as possible on a limited budget.

Another fedora or trilby brim that is turned up all the way round. Less of a curve than BB63 and a brim width of 65mm. Once blocked and dry you can flip the front down if required. Pictured here with a set of brim legs (optional) to make blocking in one possible.

A narrower trilby/fedora brim that is again turned up all the way round. The width of the brim is 45mm. Once blocked and dry you can flip the front down if required. Pictured here made from tulip wood and with a string groove (optional).

A very stylish 'snap' brim which features a ridge round the back, where the blocked brim will 'snap' to create an upturn running from the sides round to the back. This has the advantage that with a crown or indeed any of our multiblock tips screwed on top, you can 'block in one' in the same way that you would make a cloche hat. The ideal crown to accompany this brim is the CB112 pictured right, but why not try any of our multiblock tips too - see below for some ideas. String groove as standard.

Another brim block for the classic topper CB22F - see crowns page, but this time with much more exagerated features. The brim sweeps up high at the sides with a fairly steep down turn front and back.

A brim block for the classic bowler. The same width all round,with the option (pictured) of having an integral string groove with one vertical side, to allow the traditional turned-over rim to be created straight on the block. The groove 'fades out' at the front & back.

By request, a slightly smaller version of the BB44 to suit the smaller frame. The crown is also offset further and this time towards the upturn side. On this block there is no defined line on the rim for the extent of the upturn, leaving you free to cut it however you like. A very stylish and verstile brim.

A very large diameter up turn brim with a dramatic sweep from side to side. The picture right shows the block at the angle the finished hat will be with the high side being as high as an average crown. High side can be placed either left or right. Why not try MB77 which gives a matching slope to the crown.

An asymmetric and versatile brim that works either way round. One way gives a nice high up turn at the front sweeping down to one side, the other way turns it into a stunning trilby style with a downturned front, one high side and the other low.

An elegant cloche brim whose curves will flow gently out of the vertical sides of a crown above. The front extends lower than the back and the sides sweep up in the centre, a shape which is easily created on the block with the string groove (included in the price).
