This is our extensive range of crown blocks including five-part blocks. Most crown blocks are available in oval or circular forms and the ovals can be slim or broad. See choosing your blocks for a full explanation. All sizes are available, from child to large adult. Finger grip and stand holes are provided and are 25mm in diameter. All our blocks are hand finished and sealed and will have a long life if used and stored with the care that high quality timber products deserve. Helpful hints are included with all blocks.

A neat little fascinator block with a pork pie style centre and a raised side. It includes a string groove as standard for ease of blocking. The block is 108mm wide at the highest point and it measures 30 mm from the top of the string groove to the peak.
Pill box hats are ones that sit on the head without a brim and, as such, often need to be finished by turning the fabric back on itself at the bottom of the hat. In order to make this easier, all pill box crown blocks have the option of being hollowed underneath, creating a lip around which the fabric can be pinned. After blocking, the lining band can be stitched in, leaving a very tidy bottom edge to the hat.

The ridges of this block follow the same sideways slope as an MB10 but of course the valleys imitating a shell make a big difference!
A five-part block can be dismantled inside the blocked crown to allow you to get the crown off the block without stretching the fabric. If you choose the solid version, it can be very difficult to remove the crown from the block unless the fabric has plenty of give or you are prepared to cut the crown to remove it and then sew it together again, covering the seam with trimming.

All our five-part blocks are precision made, and except for the beret block, are supplied together with our special extractor (seen in use above), enabling you to gently dismantle the block while inside the blocked crown without having to use a hammer! Full instructions are included with all five-part blocks.
