PB140 Pill Box Crown

This pill box crown can sit on the back of the head and is hollowed to allow you to pin the underside to create a neat edge. This block works best with felt.

Laura has kindly given these hints and tips on how to navigate getting the blocked shape off the form: “I steam the felt hood, pull it over the block and let it dry. Then I remove it from the block. It should have a good shape in place if you have given it a good stretch over the block. I then start to add the felt stiffener. I don’t put it back on the block after I have stiffened it! This is when it becomes difficult to remove. I peg it onto something so it’s hanging upside down evenly so that the crown of the hat doesn’t collapse inwards. I then just keep building up on the stiffener depending on how much is needed. Felt works best for this shape.”
