Block of the Month – March 2017

Every month we offer a discount on one of our popular designs and this month it is the saucer block FB23. As with many of our saucers, this one comes with a presser and a string groove, both of which make the whole blocking process very easy. This block in particular is a very versatile shape lending itself to many possibilities of size and outline. If kept at full size it is 380mm across but you can create variety but cutting to different outlines or wiring the edge and manipulating it further

On the purple hat below, And Stafford-Townsend from Milliners Guild in Bristol has cut one side low and kept the other side full resulting in a nice sweep from high to low. You could also cut it shorter all round or even cut a differently shaped outline altogether!

You will receive 15% discount on the price below when you quote ‘Block of the Month’

FB23 – Saucer Block

A saucer block with central hole and circular presser. The bump flows smoothly into the ‘brim’ without a sharp corner. 380mm diameter.

  • A personal service

Dedicated to providing you with the best hat blocks you can buy - here at Guy Morse-Brown, our focus is firmly on working with you to make your own personal creations.

To make things with your hands is a fundamental part of human nature and whether it is the weaver, the felt maker, the block maker, or you the milliner, we are all part of a process that culminates in something that is more than just an object to admire - it is a statement, an expression that enriches the life of the wearer and creator alike.

We feel that the parts of the process shouldn't be completely separated so we want to work with you to enable us both to share in it all. For that reason you won't find online ordering here on our website but you will find a huge range that shows that almost anything is possible. It's too simple to just add products to a cart; we want to keep alive the personal communication between block maker and milliner that used to be so essential. Get in touch with us and share your ideas, let us know what you want to make and we're ready to serve.

They are almost too beautiful to use.
