Block of the month BB78 & MB77

Every month we offer a discount on one of our popular designs and this month it is one of our biggest brims BB78.

BB78 has a hidden secret in that it has a head hole that is not vertical. This cunning feature means that once it is blocked, you get a fantastic sweep from high to low – one side to the other. It pairs very well with the multiblock tip MB77 which has a matching slope and when screwed onto an MBB (base) you have a full height crown block ready to use.  The MBB comes as part of our multiblock set so bear in mind that you may already own this part.

We love what Roxanne Willard has done with these two blocks – especially the crushed velvet – hmmmm, very enticing!

BB78 – Brim Block

A very large diameter up turn brim with a dramatic sweep from side to side. The thumbnail picture shows the block at the angle the finished hat will be with the high side being as high as an average crown. High side can be placed either left or right. Why not try MB77 tip which gives a matching slope to the crown? Circular outline, 516mm diameter and pictured here with an optional string groove.

MB77 – Multiblock Tip

This is a much more sloping verison of our popular MB10. The steeper angle is made possible by the tip being 80mm tall as opposed to the more standard 70mm. The sloping surface is also gently domed.

MBB – Multiblock Base

Included in the Multiblock set, this is the Multiblock base. As with all our crown blocks, the base has two finger grip holes and a stand hole.

  • A personal service

Dedicated to providing you with the best hat blocks you can buy - here at Guy Morse-Brown, our focus is firmly on working with you to make your own personal creations.

To make things with your hands is a fundamental part of human nature and whether it is the weaver, the felt maker, the block maker, or you the milliner, we are all part of a process that culminates in something that is more than just an object to admire - it is a statement, an expression that enriches the life of the wearer and creator alike.

We feel that the parts of the process shouldn't be completely separated so we want to work with you to enable us both to share in it all. For that reason you won't find online ordering here on our website but you will find a huge range that shows that almost anything is possible. It's too simple to just add products to a cart; we want to keep alive the personal communication between block maker and milliner that used to be so essential. Get in touch with us and share your ideas, let us know what you want to make and we're ready to serve.

They are almost too beautiful to use.
