Crown Dummy (Tolliker)

A crown smoothing tool made from good old boxwood like all the originals – there really is no other wood that is so durable and hard wearing. Primarily used for pressing out the shellac between layers of calico in silk top hat making, but it can also be used to help smooth out the felt on topper crowns.
